The Greene County volleyball team had a two win week last week after four matches.
On Thursday, Oct. 13, the Rams hosted Saydel for Greene County senior night. The Rams won 3-0 with set scores of 25-10, 25-18 and 25-5. Isabella Schroeder had 13 kills in the game and Kylee Stalder pounded 12, adding to the team’s 42 total kills in the match.
Graci Cooklin was credited with nine digs and Katrina Heupel had eight. The Rams had a solid night of serving with 17 aces, including three each from Natalie Heupel, Schroeder, Alexa Peters, and K. Heupel.
Seniors recognized for Greene County were Natalie Heupel, Isabella Schroeder, Alexa Peters, Ashlynn Hinnners and Katrina Heupel.
On Saturday, the team took part in the Winterset tournament, picking up one win and two losses. The win was against Red Oak, where the Rams went 2-1, the first set going to the Tigers 21-18, with the Rams taking the second and third 21-16 and 15-12.
Greene County fell to the Webster City Lynx and host school 2-1. No statistics were available at press time.
Class 3A Tournament action began on Monday, Oct. 17, with Greene County hosting OABCIG at 7 p.m. That winner advances to play either Nevada or Southeast Valley in Nevada on Wednesday, Oct. 19. The Regional final game will be played on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at a site to be determined.
Teams on the other side of the bracket include Unity Christian, MOC-Floyd Valley, Cherokee Washington and Harlan.
